Working with people.
Supporting inclusion.
My fieldwork brought together patient reception, direct community support, education activities and engagement with district staff.
Patient reception
Receiving patients at the medical camp placed communication and a respectful welcome at the centre of my role.
Community support
Providing food, clothes and scholastic materials involved direct engagement with children and families during field visits.
Staff and district engagement
Attending the meeting with UDWA staff and the senior Community Development Officer provided exposure to district coordination.
Inclusive service delivery
The activities addressed healthcare access, education resources and practical support for people with disabilities and their families.
05 / REFLECTIONS ON COMMUNITY PRACTICE
What these activities highlight.
Respect in everyday interactions
Patient reception and household visits bring service providers into direct contact with people seeking support. Clear communication and respectful treatment are essential parts of that work.
Practical resources matter
The distribution of scholastic materials connects community support with education. Food and clothing support addresses practical needs within the same family and community settings.
Community work connects people
The meeting between UDWA staff and the district Community Development Officer illustrates the connection between organisational work and local government engagement.
